Default Braid and knots

I have been a mono guy for all my life. But I have tried a braid a few times and every time I have the same issue.
The knots I tie seem to break or come loose.
I have tried to use Palomar knot but even that seems to slip.

Any advice or direction would be great.

I dont by cheap stuff so it isnt the brand of the braid as I have tried several.

If you know the name of the knot I can look up the directions on how to tie them.

Knot wars app. I tie the palomar. It works for braid or mono. Never had an issue with it slipping. Maybe try an overhand knot afterwards?

I have the knot war app.

Usually I have tied the braid to a swivel then a leader to that. I am sure that is a big no no.

Use hooks that have a welded eyelet braid is small enough to slip through the crack on gamakatsu hook or super glue holds it well

Just watched a video on YouTube on how to make a double Uni knot...Very simple and way more effective than the garbled up crap I've always gotten by with! LOL

For leader knot I have been using uni to uni....someone on here mentioned the alberto knot. To me it is easier and quicker to tie. It beat the uni to uni in the knot wars. Knot for the lure I use a mirrolure loop knot, gives the bait more action. Practice makes perfect

Alberto for braid to mono or fluoro leader. Its the smallest knot possible. Works for me with micro guides

I have learned to use shorter leaders especially on spinning equipment due to the uni to uni damaging the guides when psssing through the rod.

Clampy turned me onto the Palomar, have yet to have any issues since. Gonna try the uni to unit on braid to flouro next...Loop to loop is great on the fly rod but have not tried it yet on spinning

Love the palomar. Quick and about as strong as they come. I really like the loop knot on my topwaters and occasional jig. Especially sac a lait jigs gives it a good side to side wobble on the way down. UNI knot for braid to floro. I only wrap my UNI knots 4 times. It seems to work really good and doesn't make to big of a knot.

I never tie my braid directly to the jig heads. Always braid to fluro and fluro to jigs. I find the Albright knot to be smaller and better than the uni to uni when tying braid to fluro (or mono). For tying the fluro to the jig head, I use the palomar knot. Not bragging by any stretch, but I have yet to have an albright or a palomar fail on me.

I use 30 lb. Power Pro Super Slick braid and Seagar 20 lb. fluro.
