Default IFA Grand Isle

I was down in Grand Isle this past weekend participating in the IFA kayak tournament. This is a one day event CPR format. Weather was as bad as it can get but the fishing was great as usual down there!
I finished in 12th out of 53 entered. There were some unbelievable catches that came in.

Just browsing before heading out. That was a nasty day. I remember it well.

Big bull reds are pretty easy to catch in the pass, so I'm a bit surprised that there are not more big bull reds in the standings, unless the weather made accessing the better locations hard. Use cracked crab on the bottom. See the attached picture for our preferred locations. 1 is our favorite.

That does make it harder. Are Gulp allowed?

Yes gulp is the bait of choice mostly. It takes a while to get one in. I will be back for the championships in October. If you have any good spots please pm me
