Would like to see this. That would be a great help for the estuary.

Ah, so they're putting one in old River too. That will make a huge difference!

It's a shame it's taken this long. This should have been done years ago

the plans you are referring to are just a conceptual design by tetra-tech out of belleview, Wa. that wall you are describing would be 20468 ft long with 2 bypass sills at 60ft wide and 4 channels to enter and exit the lake with possible wiers and of course the boat bay to go with each wier .the other concept is to put a salt water lock at the south and north end of the channel at mile marker 3 and 11 with bypass sills at each one. these are only 2 of the many concepts that the coastal protection and restoration authority have planned out for the future.

silt issue could be helped way north. The Calcasieu River from just north of Ward 8 park to salt water barrier does not clear up anymore. When I lived along the river which I was raised up on around the old town bay area used to clear up where u could see 3-4 feet down. Now its lucky to get 6 inches. You have to get above bayou serpent to see clear water up here anymore. idk if its farmers or not. we used to say when it muddied up that the rice farmers are draining there fields. but now most are doing crawfish and draining a lot more of this muddy silty water. this almost has to contribute to the silt problem on the lower end of the river system.
