Default The Burns 3/24/2018

Fished opening day from 7:20-4:15pm. Caught 26 total, kept my legal 10, threw back the larger and smaller fish. Main baits were a Zoom Finesse worm and a Zoom lizard. The wind was something else.

Nice trip. I haven?t been out yet but heard it was packed. Hopefully the wind and the crowds will die down some soon.

Nice bunch, did you fish the front or the back. Was wondering what the hyacinth is like in the canals.

This was opening day and it was busy out there. The wind was whipping from 9am on.
It was good to be back out there.

I was in the back. I looked but didn?t notice any hyacinth. It could use a few inches of rain out there.

Sounds great, my wife wants to try for some white perch. We had to stop fishing the canals last year when it got so thick.

Nice looking catch T. I was out there Sunday and had 7 keepers before 7:45 on speed craws. Once the typhoon started up I left Cocaine Lake and hit the canals. Ended up with 15 goggle-eyes and 7 sac-a-lait. Lots of grass out there but the canals looked really good.

Good idea with the canals when the wind kicks up. I?m going out there this evening.
As much as everybody loves a crawfish or Speedcraw, I ALWAYS zero with them.
I have a small tackle bag full of them so I might try again.
The fish I cleaned all had crawfish in their stomachs.

I went back Thursday, 3/29/18, and noticed small amounts of hyacinth floating in the canals. Canals were muddier but it had received .7? of rain that morning.
I fished 4:10-7:20pm and only caught 8 bass, kept none.

We fished the front on the afternoon of the 29th. Kept 10, threw back several dinks. The east side of the big pond was more stained than last Saturday.
