Louisiana Cooperative Marine Fish Tagging Program Update

Last month was another great month for the tagging program. We had hundreds of fish tagged and a high percentage of recaptures as well. Thank you all for the hard work and support.
While we would like to continue our efforts in tagging redfish, we would also like to make a push to have more speckled trout tagged. Because trout are not as resilient as redfish we ask that you not tag anything under 12” long.
As you all know, the winter months are when you catch the big girls. So if you catch a big one and you’re going to release it, please remember to tag it.
