Commercial fishermen cited for possessing almost twice the shark limit
Boothville’s Huy Nguyen, 21, and Buras fishermen Hua Nguyen, 53, and 25-year-old Anh Nguyen were cited for over limit of shark, the LDWF said. The citations came after LDWF enforcement agents patrolling the Tiger Pass area stopped a commercial fishing vessel occupied by three people. During the inspection, agents discovered the men were commercial fishing for sharks, and were allegedly in possession of 61 sharks. Louisiana law allows 33 sharks per day per vessel. Over limit of shark carries fine between $250 and $350 and up to 90 days in jail.
