Default Check out my new $500 boat.

Buddy of mine took this vid. I miss my old boat, but I sure like the price of the new one. All together, including a tank of gas, parts, TT&L, etc. I have $970 in it. She's 18 feet and extra wide. I call her the Gray Ghost, paying homage to John Singleton Mosby, famous Confederate partisan raider. It's a great debris hauler too.

It's a work in progress. Has the place darn near where we wanted it when Ike hit.

Here is a historical marker for our bayou.

Marker is from 1965, centennial of the end of our struggle for freedom against the Yankee hoards.

It ain't Bayou Cook, but it's a wonderful place with a lot of history. I am a blessed man to have it.

I just need hands. Carpentry experience is a plus. We are also tearing down an old camp the state is making us remove. If you like busting things up, come on over. It's a 6 hour ride from New Orleans. If you want to come this weekend, I'll be there Sat/Sun/Mon. I'll pick you up at the ramp if you're interested.

Other projects we need to finish are building the back porch, installing a door where there isn't one (I have a new one in the case.), and putting bolts through the pilings to firmly connect them to the beams. There's time for fishing, front porch sitting, and crabbing too. No work in the heat of the day. Just mornings and evenings. Also fishing under lights at night. Send me a PM if you're interested and we'll get you out there. - Sandy

Ain't as good as Bayou Cook bro, but I'm sure it will get better the more I learn the area. I had 27 years in one place back in La. I'm still a newbie where I am now. Plus I've hardly picked up a rod since Ike.

Out of Empire, between Bay Adams and Bay Bastian. It empties into Bay Bastian, though much of it is actually part of the bay now.
