Default 4th trip to big lake_11/1/09

Well my dad, uncle randy, and I went out the lake yesterday as some of ya'll already know and had a good time. We got there at about 6:20 I guess and went to Turners first. We attempted to work the birds, but they are much different from V. Bay birds, which are 10 times easier to get underneath. These birds just wouldn't work good for us, but they pointed us in the right direction and we caught about 25 in the morning. Then headed down to find some prettier water, which we found around long point where we caught a few more nothing fast. We decided to go exploring and we stopped at a few spots that we had caught at during the summer time, but we didn't catch anything. We thought we'd give it our shot at the weirs to catch some reds and to get our confidence back up. On the way there we saw some bait activity and stopped in the middle of the lake and picked up some more trout. Finally arrived at the weir and had a BLAST limiting out on some really really nice redfish. After that we wanted to see if we could finish our trout limit, so we went back to long point and the birds were flying and it was super calm so we could see the shrimp and baitfish and thats where we ended our limit even caught a few extra for fun and caught some more redfish in the mix too. All in all a good day. I have some pictures coming later that i have to get from my mom, since my camera decided to break on the way home. Even got to see Tim on the way home.

haha showing symptons.

Still have A LOT of learning to do over there. That place is huge. Seems like everyone fishes in the middle of nowhere. Its much different from V. Bay, but its still fun. Sucks it takes a whole tank of gas in the truck to get there and back though lol
