Default 5/11/17 Whopper Popper day

Had Mr Kevin today and we smashed a limit of trout before winds got to bad .
Keven even managed to stick a few on a whopper popper lol

It's a whopper plopper. Primarily a bass lure and around Lafayette can be purchased at field and stream and country station and possibly academy.

I picked up a smaller WP the other day. W, how did he - or you - fish it. Straight retrieve to give it that unmistakeable sound? Or Rip and pause like the old Mirrolure prop baits?

Reel-pause. I wouldn't go wasting a lot of money on em. Seems like the more traditional topwater got more blow ups. I just wanted to give it a try.

Just rippin it ...
I was throwing a one knocker spook and got way more bites and blow ups but it's always cool to catch on something new
