Cheers Tropical Trout

Felt like Tropical Storm winds today, can we please get a break??? Lol. Frank Lettieri and Keith Kelly from Colorado fished with me today on the big Bluewave. Winds were already blowing 22mph when we left the lodge, so we headed to protected water. It didn't take long for the head shaking to begin, as they started to hit the K2 quickly!! Green Hornet Matrix Shad and Blueback HLT Swimmer Jrs were the ticket today. The bite played out early so we were moving. Our second location found more of the same a quick bite then nothing. Third stop found a few more. Fourth stop had the guys reeling in doubles and many singles!! Game on we thought....then nothing!!! Stick and move was the name of the game as the winds were the worst I've seen it yet. 30-40 mph winds made for tough fishing, but the guys stuck it out and put together a respectable box for the conditions. We headed for some ponds I knew were holding reds, and we found them!! Sight casted them in the crystal clear ponds but only one fish hit and it was too small. The reds would just swim by the baits uninterested. All in all it was a great day and the guys loved it. Thanks again and look forward to your return!!
