Where is the best place to launch a flat boat on West Cove?

West Cove canal....only launch you gonna find that goes straight into WC. Hwy. 27 south of Hackberry.

Hog Island Gully is an easy launch that will take you to the ship channel by washout and 9 mile cut. a 1/2 mile to the south is west cove. You can also take a cut thru off of Hog Island Gully straight into west cove on the North bank. there is an old skimmer barge sunk in the inlet of that cut thru. look at a map, it is on there.

The launch was silted in after Rita/Ike. I think it may be opened now, but not sure.

I launched at hog island just a few weeks ago with a flat boat, no problems. easy launch with a bunch of good refish holes in the marsh on the way out or in
