Default Falcon vs Waterloo

Here is a thread to talk about best rodS.....

I have used both Falcon and Waterloo!! But Waterloo hands down is better than Falcon.....
Falcon is a great rod and I have used them for years also..... If you have not used a Waterloo you cant compare them

haha.....like the new thread instead of hijacking my classified ad!

Used many rods over the years....from allstar, american rodsmith, shimano, falcon, & waterloo just to name a few.

my current rod of choice is the waterloo also. Really nice rods!!!

This is my honest opinion.

Waterloo makes a high modulus lightweight rod with quality components for sure. The mark up on these rods is simply ridiculous. I don't deny the benefit of using one and it may be worth it if you have the money. They are charging top dollar custom rod prices for production rods.

Judging by Falcon's market share I'd say they are doing something right. I like my cenderi ti nearly/or as much as my waterloo now. I think with the technology getting better all the time you'll see higher modulus and better quality out of the 100 dollar rods at academy.

I justify using a 500-600 dollar trout/bass rodnreel simply by looking at it as one of the finer things in life and treating myself to it, nothing wrong with that either.

I think the cenderi ti is no longer made tho.....Alot of people would dissagree, but I have been using all star rods for 10 years or better and there great for the money. I have a inshore team series 7' 6" medium with a curado and its a great feeling setup. My next rod will be a spiralstix,my buddies billy stix spinning rod is really sweet.

The waterloo is a high dollar rod that most people would never pay for, but if you are a serious fisherman and willing to pay you can definately tell that it is by far a more sinsitive rod and it will catch more fish. You will actually feel more bites and have a better feel for your bait. But in my opioion it isnt as durable as a falcon. Personaly I would never saltwater fish with a falcon rod but thats all I bass fish with. I have several waterloos, laguns, and many other top dollar rods and the waterloo is the one of the best, but I fish with H&H rods now you get the same feel and weight as a waterloo and its a more durable rod from my experience. Just my opioion.

I got a new castaway rod. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Time will come. I stick with my wal-mart specials ($40 and under). That's my limit. If I snap it on a fish or snap it while throwing up the tailgate, I'll know I'm not out $400 on a rod

Jordan...Really these rods are not made of Gaftop, drum or hardheads!!! These rods are for real trout fisherman

Most of the higher end rods have warranties replacing them if just such a thing happens. You could go into Lake Charles Tackle right now, and buy the most expensive Shimano rod they have, go outside, break it in your truck, walk back in, and swap it out for a new one....no questions asked.
