Default Holiday slam

Took some time off around the holidays to hunt my lease in Texas and with a few buddies in Louisiana. I was very lucky to be in the right spots on the right days. Killed a lot of ducks and doves along the way.

A few more pics. I only killed one banded duck in my life up to two weeks ago. Shot a banded wood duck and a banded pintail within 3 weeks. Crazy how that works. Wood duck was a few months old and was banded in Iowa. Pintail was banded in South Dakota and was 2 years old. Much like Big C, I shot at the same time as my buddy who had never killed a banded bird so I gave him the pintail.

I'm really impressed that you guys didn't just breast out those doves! Nothing comes close to pot roasted doves! Great hunts BTW!

Trying not to think about it Big Dave. It's gonna sting a little watching National Championship at home rather than with my padnas. Price of oil has us shuffling around a bit.

We set one jug line on way to blind and caught this catfish. The jug was going down the canal like jaws was on it. Ended up frying it 30 minutes later with oysters and backstrap.
