Default 3-15-15 Mississippi Thunder Chicken

Should have got one yesterday. Stayed hung up on other side of trail. Tried to get too close and bumped him. Slipped in on some hot gobblers this morning and they were henned up. Did same thing one did yesterday. Went back and forth for 45 min and he wouldn't come. Shook my gobble tube and he came running. Was trying to loop me and I popped him at 40 yards.

Those woods look super thick where you took the picture.

Awesome job congrats!! Do you have a lot of success with the gobble tube? I've never used one.

To be honest, I have always been against one. But I had one in my vest and after what had happened to me Saturday, I decided to give it a shot before I got up and made a move. I shook it and he answered immediately after he hadn't gobbled for a few minutes. Waited a few minutes and yelped and he was coming. Few seconds later he pops up and heads for food plot to my left. I shook it again and he turned towards me but was still heading towards some hens so I had to take a longer than normal shot but it wasn't farther than 40 yards. I honestly would not have killed that gobbler without that tube.

It seems like it would definitely make the boss gobbler come running. I'd be worried that it would scare off a 2 yr old or other non-dominant bird. But if he's hung up and you've tried everything else what do you have to lose right? I might get one just in case.

Custom crack barrel 10 gauge with Xtra Full Extended choke
"The Punisher"

I had an auto Benelli mis fire on me a long time ago when I called in 2 birds on Jordan and I. Iordered it from Shooters for $220. It's deadly and very light and compact for a 10.
