Default Mallards....Mallards.....Mallards

Got in yesterday from a 2 day hunt in Arkansas with my camp neighbors in Hackberry. It was a last minute decide to go since one of our friends just got done with Chemo treatments, and said he would Love to go to Arkansas just once. We got on the phone and made it happen for him!

We Hunted off the White River near Balde Knob in Green Timber. 1st day was guided, and we elected to free style the second day. He dropped us off via Boat, and we struck out to an area we saw the Ducks pouring into the first day. Never seen that many Mallards in a 100 acre area in my life !

Temps were 15 both mornings with little or no wind. Used 12-24 decoys and hunkered down by trees, willows, and buckbrush. The last day, Skeet choke was all you needed...... Right in your face !

Our Cancer patient had the hunt of his life, and was the lucky one! First ever Mallard, and he had Jewelry ! Made a little trip over to Memphis, Tn to celebrate the event.

$100 A Gun. I won't go back and hunt with the guide we used. There seemed to be some confusion as to what was his leased ground, and some other guys ground. It all worked out though , and nobody got a bloody lip !
