Default Sabine 6-26

Decided to go to Sabine this morning to sling a few green trout with Mcjaredsandwich. We got there early and decided to start in burnt out canal. Caught several on topwaters in the first couple hours but nothing big, so we decided to make a move. Made a short run and found a little better water. Finished out the day at about noon with 26 and a double hookup. All fish were released.

I think it's time for a new popper.. this one is lookin a little beat up!

Thanks Hydro, yeah it's been pretty silly over there lately! It actually seemed a little slow compared to what it has been over there, but at least they bit all day. I tried what you've been throwin but couldn't get big very well, so I went back to ol faithful and went to work!

I'll fill ya in on all the details at the shop.

Thanks, we saw gazillions of shad poppin and jumping for their lives too.. one cast of the popper revealed the harassers to be ladyfish. But, if the shad were busted within a foot or two of the bank or I saw a shrimp pop, then it was more than likely a bass. Most of our fish had shrimp in their throats.

Awesome report man. It was nice meeting you saturday at the shop. I will be back for sure! We decided to go to the Calcasieu and had a decent morning. Our best five would have been around 9-10 pounds. Not alot of fish but some good ones. Also caught a red and a trout lol

We probably would have had 6 pounds on 5 fish. We caught enough for a solid one man 10 fish limit. For the most part, they were chunky.

All our fish were caught on finesse worms... top water bite was non existant. One good fish would've put us in the top spot.... but thats fishing.

Is there a size requirement for a 10 fish limit?
