Default 10/01/16 Prien Area Report

Launched around 715, caught pogies, and fished some flats near channel.
Caught a couple of small trout and flounder here and there, tide was moving out strong, maybe too strong to fish the channel points.
Ended the day around 1 with half doz small trout and one redfish, on pogies and plastics.

Water looked good, although salinity still not what it was this time last year.
Never could get on em good, just one or two here and there.
Lots of bait around, pogies bigger than what i found last week, strong tide movement and NE wind 5+. Nothing in the fish's bellies when i cleaned em.
I was expecting better, but maybe i was fishing too close to channel with the strong tide movement.

Should i be fishing further off the channel when tide ripping hard?
Critique welcomed as im still learning and losing some confidence due to my last few trips!
Thanks guys.
