Default 10-10-16 quickest one yet!

Was suppose to take the ole lady and grand baby this am when I got off graveyards at 6am. Waited around the house til almost 8 for it to warm up a bit for little man but they decide not to go. Was going to go fish up north at Salt Water Barrier after getting live shrimp at Calcasieu Point then drive to prein and launch. Well when I drove thru the parking lot at the point I could see the birds out there on the water every now and then jumping up to grab a shrimp and lay back down. Looked just like it did last Monday so changed plans and launched boat at point. Just passed the point I lowered trolling motor and wasn't long before I landed 14" trout. Went to anchor and realized I hadn't even made it pass locks yet and it was 20 feet deep. So I stretched out enough rope and lowered mighty mite to bottom. Last Monday I went just a little further where water is only 2-3 feet. Today they chasing shrimp to top of water from down deep! 35-40 minutes later I landed # 15. Could not believe I was catching trout in 20 feet of water throwing live shrimp about 4 feet under a small Popping cork. For sure was most anchor line I ever let out. Here is pics of where I was anchored and my catch. Last time I said I could of trolled to the fish and this time I could of paddled there. I was close to west bank but no where near close enough to reach bank.

After catching my limit of trout I trolled down bank and picked up 5-6 rat reds and one small bass and more 13"-14" trout. After I cleaned fish two guide boats came in and had 43 trout and 8-9 reds with some black drum and sheepshead. Was surprised to find out they ran all the way to Sabine to catch em.
