Default wildpig

from what i can see you have posted with the maps, it seems to be that you can actually run from trapper lake to burton lake, or is this not the intentions of the management

x2! You are obviously more of an authority on the issue, I just wanted to get the word out to the community on here since I know many are very interested in this sort of info! Thank you for making the maps! Very helpful.

This oughta be a huge ****** rodeo next year. Everybody was already running in the marsh, so I guess they got tired of fighting it and just said **** it.

1. The trailer is there because a construction company is taking out the concrete bridges on central canal.
2. As of right now horsepower is not an issue or on radar. (Don't make it one)
3. You should be able to run from the TS to Burton via however I have not done it yet but will try next week.
4. Please feel free to distribute the map provided. These open waterways are the only places outboards will be aloud to run. If people think they can run anywhere they want then management will without a doubt shut it down again.

Noo that's not the story! My guide ran out of shells, and I personally felt guilty being invited on the hunt. So I offered my badazz Benelli for the fella to shoot.
All about making people happy

Wild Pig, thanks for sharing the map. I appreciate you giving us the heads up. A buddy called me last night to talk about the changes. I have some recommendations I am going to make via PM.

Pro's:
More room for everyone to navigate. Opens up more area, therefore allowing more hunter's to hunt at a safer distance.

Hopefully the boat/canoe hazard will go away.

If two boats are too close it will be easier for one to get away from the other.

Easier to get to spot with the imposed 4:00 A.M. launch. (I think the launch time should go back to 3; heck even 2).

Cons:

Could potentially open up the marsh more.

More hunters

Lots of hunters where the ducks are if they are in close proximity to one of these running lakes. (The ducks won't be there long)

Surface drive/go devil city. Very loud.

I will say that this needs to be enforced. Will there be signs clearly designating motor/no motor areas? If not, because of the ambiguity of the boundaries of these lakes there will always be individuals who press their luck.

Pretty good. Redfish abused my $1.00 spinnerbaits and my buddy's plastic worms a few years back.

They couldn't police a blanket policy of no running in the marsh, how do they or anybody else expect them to keep up with who's running outside of N 29 51' 51" W 093 33' 55"

Valid point. The inherent problems with regulations is that enforcement is needed.

Do you think that maybe they should've opened all the marsh and it be a "enter at your own risk policy"? Just curious if you think this is a good move.

The ducks should find the impoundment quick this year.

My personal opinion is they should've left it alone and policed the illegal outboard marsh running. The birds were there, but unfortunately so were the people. So groups would pile onto one another to avoid paddling or trollin any deeper in the marsh. So after a couple weekends when that act gets tired and the lack of a game warden presence is noticed, then you see the marsh runners come out. So when you wake up early to make that hour long paddle to get away from the crowds, you've got somebody who slept in and just blows by you and proceeds to where he heard a bunch of shooting last weekend; ie your hole. So do the math on what it's gonna be like this year.
