Default Turners location

Can someone give me the location of Turners Bay? I'm traveling North on the ship channel coming from Dugas landing and I think it's about 6 miles from Dugas. Also, any reefs to watch out for when I'm going to Turners from the ship channel? Any landmarks to go by? thanks for your help w/ this.

The reason i ask is b/c the channel has been a beast on a falling tide and a strong south wind...if you have to run from dugas run outside the channel markers when possible there is less current and water is calmer and you'll be running in aprox 8-10 foot of water. As soon as you pass the three tanks on left take right as soon as your able to and your in turners bay. If you can put in else where Ellender bridge is a skip and a jump from turners...shorter easier run.

Thanks for the help. The boat I'm using can easily navigate the channel no matter what the waves are like in the channel. I was mainly concerned about running up on reefs when I made my way into turners. I heard some areas are real shallow, so when I turn right into turners from the ship channel, I was going to follow the land mass on my right until I got to Turners cause I think it's deeper there (rather than going straight to the island)..Correct?

I run through there in my Blue Wave and haven't had any problems so far but don't hug that island in turners and go running wide open behind it and you should be fine water is usually 4-8 feet all right there were the reef is.

This time of year you want to be fishing the banks instead of running them...when you can make the right turn...stay in the open water plenty of water in turners the only place it gets real skinny is around the island and the north belly....find a bank with clean water and bait on it and throw a topwater...im sure you'll be pleased w/ the results...

There really is a great group of guys here. Ignore the hair pullers and name callers and you'll really enjoy your stay here!
