Bounce Big Lake Here I Come!!

In exactly one week I will be fishing the Big Lake for the first time. I am soooooo pumped. You guys have shared some great information and I can not wait to put it into action. Is the water still clearing? Are the birds still working? Is the fishing still better on the south end of the lake? Anything going on around Turners? I have all these questions and it won't mean a thing until the actual day you hit the water because it is all subject to change. Yet, I ponder and ponder this stuff over and over again. I can't wait for that first "THUMP" on that soft plastic..........wooooooooo OK!! I am better now! I will see you guys next week.

Since I only get to come once a year, I know your excitement. I think studying, dreaming and preparing is an amazing part of the trip. Every year I plan like crazy, study maps and look at Big Lake online every day. Even though I develop a plan, things seem to change once I get there but I have never had a disappointing trip. Be ready to adjust plans as needed.

Do anyone have the number to the bait shop near Hebert Landings? Can you reserve bait?

Yikes!! Not Good. Well, I guess all we can do is change tactics. We want to fish and the fish got to eat. (I have to stay positive for my trip).

Ill give you one of my known spots thats good for a few flounder and a few reds. Either use shrimp under a cork, Gulp swimming mullet, chartreuse or Matrix shad purple haze. Fish along the shore line and into any cuts.

Watch your depth, but this should be good on a falling tide. Enjoy and have fun. Its just off ship channel, so it should be ok

Default Big Lake Here I Come!!

Fish live bait along the ship channel on the south end of the lake Carolina rigged or free lined. You can also hit the rocks along the ship channel with popping corks. I wouldn't fish north of Joes cove. You are bound to catch something
