Default Took the wife fishing 9/20/2009

We hit Jsmokes hole and caught 17 Sand Trout, 11 Specks and 1 small Flounder. The biggest Speck was a little over 3 lbs.
My wife was using live shrimp under a cork and I was using a glow Jr. with sparkles in it and a chartruese tail. I lost one pretty decent trout around 4 lbs. when my line hit the trim tab. We both had a dozen or so hits each that we missed. The water temp. was 82 today, up 2 degrees from Thurs. and Fri.
We had a slight NW wind this morning, but by 8:30 am, it died off to hardly nothing. By 9:30 am, the water was like glass and the fish stopped biting.
We came in and cleaned the fish and the boat. My wife said someone short must have designed the cleaning tables at Calcasieu Point.
We saw 6 big Drum right by the cleaning tables. One was almost white and the others were gray. They all looked over 20 lbs.
We are going to fry up the Sand Trout right now with some taters and have a big azzed supper with my parents and sisters.
Be back later tonight.

My wife took several pictures, but evidently this one was the only one that she turned on the camera for. She is blond.

I caught Sand Trout on Long Point this past Thursday. There are plenty there also.
I don't have any hole of my own, so I have to potlick someone...

We just finished off 32 fried Sand Trout fillets, 20something Hush Puppy's and cut up 8 lbs. of taters to fry up. I am so full of fried fish and taters. I am going to pass out pretty soon.

Fool, I saw a greenish G3 with a 25 merc. today. It had 3 young 'uns in it. But none looked like you.
You are very welcome to come eat anytime I get a buttload of Sand Trout. I don't keep them, I eat them the same day I catch them. We had 3 fillets left over, so I had to finish them off. They were pretty dang good.
I sprinkled Tony's on them as soon as we got home and put them in the fridge while I cleaned the boat. Then dunked them in buttermilk and dusted with Tony's fish fry.
I freezed all the trout and the flounder for later.

Yes. Right north of Burton's, in the curve, on the North side.
