Bounce BL 9-22 Red Hunting

Saturday pm it got real still and real hot on BL. I was with my son Jake and daughter-in-law Jessie trying to catch her first red and son trying to catch big reds since he was about 12 (14 yrs. ago). BL didn't disappoint. We went south just inside the channel north of the steam engine. We chased big reds for about 3 hrs after 2:30pm. At times we had 3 on at the same time. We kept seven--we were able to catch some 27 inch reds, but Jessie caught the biggest at 34 inches and she held her own. We caught them on gulp under a popping cork and hackberry hustlers on quarter ounce jigheads. The schooling reds were so aggressive. We had a blast and the several boats that joined the hunt were courteous. We do need some cooller weather.
