Hows yoyr milage pulling a boat.

Im getting out of a lemon dodge durango. And looking at this F 150 with 5.0 engine.

Don't have a 21' boat but I've pulled other boats, utility trailers, dog trailers loaded down wit hounds and IMO this engine is weak. No power and also bad on gas. I can live wit one but not both. Next truck will either be 3/4 ton or an Ecoboost.

Have it and love it. Pulled ultra lite camper to Toledo and back and got 11 mpg. Not bad for that trip in my opinion. Pulls 21.5' bay boat fine but i only tow about 10 miles round trip. Quiet, powerful, and economical. Figured it would take several years to make up the extra cost of the ecoboost plus I just wasn't comfortable with the turbo. I get 15'ish and 21'ish. I've had 2 titans (great trucks) and I find this tows A little better than either of the Nissans did. WAY better mileage than the Nissans too. IT'S NOT A 3/4 TON TRUCK, but it doesn't have the price tag or mileage of one either.

What was the outcome with the Durango, did you talk to corporate about a buy back?

Damn bro. I haven't been having any problems with mine lately but I got a bad feeling something is gonna happen again. I'm sure once my warranty is up. Sure is sad that I don't even have confidence in taking it out of Louisiana for any trips.

I had 5.0 and ecoboost. Eco was horrible mpg pulling 24 bay boat. 5.0 was almost as bad. I now have a tundra and it puts both of the f150s i had to shame.

I believe it. If I was to get gas rig it would be a tundra without a doubt!

My new 1/2 ton GMC pulls my boat with ease but its only 17'. I would either go Yota or GM. I will never buy another Ford or Dodge as long as I live with all the problems I had with my 2012 F-250 and 2011 Durango. F-250 gave me more problems than the Durango is currently giving me now.

My tundra is fast and powerful but it seems like once I hook up to the boat it has trouble finding gears. I was disappointed. It is still better than my 5.4 z.

I wondered about the Eco boost and the 5.0 but now not so sure. I want a 3/4 ton but I don't want to drive it around all day for work.

No sure if Ford makes the 5.0 eco anymore. Mine is the 3.5L.

What is your mpg on your Toyota when pulling your boat. My wife has a Sequoia with the 5.7 in it and she gets 12 -13 city and 17-18 highway not pulling anything. I have not used it yet to pull my boat to see what the mpg will be.

New GM has 355 hp compared to 295 in old ones. Towing is a lot better.

I didnt know they ever made a 5.0eco. I was saying i had their 5.0 and also the ecoboost. If i keep it under 70 i can get 12-13mpg towing with the tundra. At the same speed my eco was getting 6.8mpg and this is hand calculation not what dash says.
