How many of you on here have caught tagged redfish that are tagged with a NMFS tag? I caught one this weekend, and a couple guys i fish with have caught them the last few years.

Yeah I think they give you a package of goodies to say thanks if you take a picture and report the tag with the location you caught it to them. I'm sure the number for the NMFS is floating around somewhere

I already turned the info in. The phone number and address was on the tag. The fish was tagged not far from where i re-captured it in 2008. It was 3/4 lb., 13 inches long. When i caught it the fish weighed 3.12 pounds and was 22 inches. And yes they do give you a reward, they told me they would be sending me a certificate about the capture and re-capture of the fish and a hand towel with the NMFS logo on it. Pretty cool huh.....
