After 2 eventfull days of offshore fishing Tony and John wanted to get in some relaxing bottom fishing. The weather was going to be blowing and they already had enough tuna and amberjack. I had told them that if the water was good I would attempt to get to a nearby rig to maybe get another tuna or wahoo. Although rough we had good water and we eased out to look. A boat was already there and there was too much grass to troll. There were some blackfin caught on jigs but all we were able to pick up was an amberjack.

The amberjack reminded Tony of how much he had gotten beat up reeling in the bigger fish for the last 2 days.

It was time to relax and look for some lane snapper. We bounced around looking and had to go through over 50 of these in the process.

This was the type of fishing today was like most of the time.

There was a moment when Tony had to help John out. This was only good for a quick photo and back to breed again.

The catching was continuous.

We got a variety of good fish.

On the way in as we ran through one of the river passes Tony and John commented on how the it looks like a place to find catfish. I told them we sometimes find them while red fishing. Long story short I stopped they dropped and we caught a blue cat.

From amberjack to blue catfish, a big bull red and a lot of good eating. Another memorable trip.

Nice lil trip there. Is there certain places and techniques for the lanes or do you just bounce around till you find em?
