We got back to the dock at 4 pm. After the day I had before, I thought we would be in by noon , but that didn't work. It was a lot more cloudy than the day before also.
The water temp is still at 80 degrees. Much better than last month. The bigger flounders were 3lbs. 12 oz. and 3lbs. 13 oz., weighed at Calcasieu Point. Must have been sisters. One of the big flounder had 1 shrimp in it's stomach. All of the other fish stomach's were completely empty.
It is hell to keep track of all the spots that I potlick, now Gerald is going to show me a few more up north in the Lake Charles area. I already know about W's reef in Moss Lake, I just gotta learn more up here.
The Brown lure outfished live shrimp. Hard for me to believe. Most of the live shrimp I threw were attacked by Ladyfish, but the shrimp were too big for them. They could not swallow them.
The shrimp inside the weirs are big and plentiful. They are about 21/25's or bigger and some of the castnetters were catching a dozen or so per throw. There must have been 20 or so boats throwing cast nets. We also saw a few boats crabbing. They were not catching a lot, but they were big crabs.
I have never ran a trolling motor so much in all my life. I couldn't believe the batteries kept up. We must have ran 5 miles or more up in the marsh with the trolling motor and a couple more miles on other spots in the lake.

Fixed it for you........one boat we talked to said they had caught ~2 or 3 dozen crabs in 4 hours.

Nice haul guys. With all the shrimp in the marsh it's not suprising that there were a ton of boats cast netting. It's good to hear that all the boats were staying legal in reguards to the posted signs @ the weirs.

Side note: I got a ticket a few months back for fishing too close to the grand bayou weirs (behind the signs). I got the paperwork in the mail last week. $200 fine & $25 processing fee! Total of $225 for fishing in closed area. This was a federal violation also.

I just ate me some Flounder with crab stuffin'. I am 'bout ready to pop. I didn't eat nothing else, just Flounder.
My wife likes to see me coming home with them flat fishes.
