Dance New addition to the arsenal

Just picked up a Browning BLR Lite in a 7mm-08 from a buddy with only 6 rounds through it. Gotta go shopping for a Nikon or Leuopold tomorrow

Bruce, If that tells you anything, it's a bad *** bullet. Been "mainly" shooting this caliber since '91. Itching to get a scope on it & pull the trigger! I'll let ya know how it does. Haven't been dissapointed in any of the guns above yet.

Pulled the trigger on it this w/e Bruce. 140gr core lokts were about a 3/4" -1" group. Not too bad, maybe could have gotten a little better group with the Fusion's, just like the core lokts to hunt with.

I wanted one of those BLRs or BAR safari but lafayette shooters was 50 bucks high on the price.

I bought 5 boxes of 7-08 core lokts when cabelas had that sale, my rifle is still unfired. I'm curious to see how it does with them.

What rifle you shooting?

I've got five 7mm-08's in four different rifles & they all like the core lokts.

I heard good things about this caliber gun. I am looking for a new caliber gun. I used to have a 243, but wife now has it. I have a 30-06 but i got used to shooting 243. I like the smaller caliber, but wanted to get a caliber between the 243 and 270. I thought of the 308. Is the 7mm-08 between these two?

on paper it has the power of the .270 win with several pounds less recoil.

Shouldn't have a problem with the 700 spitting them out.

Ballistics on the 7mm-08 are just a tad shy of the .270 with less recoil, great gun, example a .243 with 100 grain is approx 11 ft lbs of recoil the 7mm-08 with a 140 gr is approx 12.5 ft lbs of recoil & .308 with 150 gr is approx 15 ft lbs of recoil. Something close to that, I used to have the recoil table, can't find it. If I remember right the .270 & 30-06 are around 19-21 ft lbs.

That was some good info. I like the fact that it has less recoil and still lots of thump. Thanks

Jeff did the boys do any good this past weekend? Are you and Steve or the two Turner guys interested in goin to the ranch one day? 3000 acres with exotics, plenty deer and 60 acre pond. Plus about 50 full auto rifles including a Marine sniper .50 cal. Kids are also more than welcome as there are plenty of toys to play with. Give me a shout.
