Default Tuna report and pics from the show

http://vimeo.com/103567147

July 30th , Capt Josh and Capt Mitch along with Out Da Bayou host John Jackson boarded the Triple Threat in
Venice to shoot a tv show and catch a few yellowfintuna. The bite had been on but had died the day before so we were a little on edge and hoping for some action. We made our way out about 60 miles south of Venice Louisiana. Plan was to catch bait and look around there for a few tuna. Well, didn't take long for us to see yellowfin clearing the water , chasing baits, putting on a show. We were still catching bait but decided to cut it short and try to put a few tuna in the boat early.

The boat was still in motion as Capt Mitch casted the popper off of the bow. Capt Josh was busy putting a live hardtail out the back of the boat. Capt Mitch hooked into a tuna with the popper and it wasn't two more mins before the live hardtail had been swallowed up. Game on....doubled up within five mins of putting baits in the water. We landed both fish...cleaned them up a little to take pictures, fish on ice and back in position for round 2.

It took a few mins more for our 3rd hook up but it came . Another crash on a live one. Nothing big about these fish but they had lots of heart. John was in a sweat by now on his 2nd yellowfin to fight. Most fish were 50-60 pounds. may have ended up with one around 70 ish.

We continued to hook and land fish....text book perfect. never pulled a hook, landed every fish we hooked. Wish every day was like that.

Even with the added time of posing for the camera, cleaning the fish, cleaning the boat after cleaning the fish. We still managed 8 yellowfin before 12:30. A great day to be on the Triple Threat. Check out the link. The tv show is great quality and John scored some cool shots from overhead with the drone.
