Default 2 Questions.. Venice to SW Pass

Just spoke with a good friend who is heading home from a 5 day inshore trip in the Venice area. He and his partners have been fishing Venice for reds for 10+ years every October and are very good fishermen. He said that this past week was the toughest they had seen since they started fishing the area.
Finding decent water was tough.

So..
1. Are you fellers finding this to be so in this area along the river? Wonder if will do some clearing in the next couple of weeks.

And..
2. Is there a certain wind direction that seems to be "the kiss of death" for a good bite in this area?

Thanks!

Can't help you with that. I've only fished offshore in Venice. Always wanted to try inshore but by the time I hit the West Bank all I can hear is the YFT calling out my name.

Thanks Paul.
Never done the YFT trip, but I've been fortunate to wear out some 20-30# reds on big topwaters.
This time of the year, I dream of some of the "whirlpoolish" hits and the number of "crushed" (literally) topwaters I've had.
