Default paid hunting trips

guys,

we are not in a lease anymore but would still like to make a good hunt this season. Me, my wife, and my 14yr old son all like to deer hunt. I'm looking to go on a paid hunt where my son can get his first buck (8 or betterish), something he can hang on the wall. if my wife and i shoot a doe or a hog that would be great... not looking to spend a crap load of money and would like to make a 3-5 day hunt. i live in Houma, La and am willing to drive as far as 4-5 hours away. can you recommend a place that will treat us rite... looking for a hunt my son can talk about for years....

I have no idea on cost, maybe check on Giles Island. You have to get there by boat and of course they ferry you to and from. Seems like part of the experience your son would love.

I think your best bet is to head to Texas. You can get some pretty decent packages over there for what you are looking for.

You could also put in for youth lottery hunts on our WMAs. Might not get a "wall hanger" but very well could. They offer great opportunities for youngsters to kill deer.

look up tensas national refuge. They have a kids lottery hunt ( must b present) it is in a closed area with a guide from the refuge. They have a all day activities for the kids there and do the drawing that day. It's. Free. Lots of big deer get taking every year.

Also, look at Floy Ward McElroy WMA. This is another one that offers awesome youth hunts. Thistlewait does too.
