Not totally sure but whatever you buy shoot a box to make sure your gun functions correctly with the ammo

I like the critical defense...superior penetration and very good expansion...

Critical defense & Zombies are dang near the same. Both function extremely well. Check out the Buffalo Bore also, they are as hot as you can load them.

Placement is 90% of the battle. Critical defense is some the best in the market or, Hydra-shoks.

Federal Premium is loading their HST bullet in 9mm now. I'd go with that if you could find it.

00 Buckshot #1 for self defense, just shoot in the general vicinity.

I hear Federal Hydra-Shocks have the best one-shot knock down power.

It's better to hit your target with any round than to miss it with the best.

What ever round you can hit center mass with is the best one at that time.

Anything is better than nothing as long as the bullets hit the right spot.. In the words of the late Jeff Cooper "A .22 bullet in the eye works as well as a .44 mag to the chest". As far as ammo types the Speer Gold Dot SB is the best ive tested. From seven yards it will penetrate a windshield and still pass through 12 to 16" of water depending on the caliber. The .45acp being the champ. Shot a GDSP 124grn 9mm through my buddies 16" barreled Uzi. Passed through the windshield and 14" of water. Recovered bullet weighed 123grns.

I did all my testing the same. Windshield at a 45 degree angle and the first water jug placed 12" from the windshield. Used anti-freeze jugs for testing. Not scientific data but did have a set of known variables for tests. Black Talons did good. XTP's were good but not great. The GDSB was the hands down winner for deflection, penetration, and ripping the heck outa that first jug. Those Rem Golden Sabres were crap. Jacket would come off in the first jug and its the only factory round ive ever witnessed a squib load.
