Default Need some info from you Gueydan guys.

Looking at maybe joining a lease in the area, was wondering if anyone close to it has some info. Worried about the pressure around it and if it is producing a good amount birds still. I know some parts around there have been on the decline in recent years and plus people dont usually get out of a good lease. If you take a left at Lougons coming from Kaplan it is 5 miles down the road, off of 713 I believe. Any help is appreciated.

Guys close to the marsh do well, but rice field blinds are hit or miss.

I know somebody that has some land a few miles east of the duck festival building and they killed close to 1000 birds out of two blinds. I hunted there before and it was hit or miss. Might kill 2 or 3 one day they next you might limit out. They have a lot of Geese in that area.

All blinds have their good days and bad days, good years and bad years. Try it out for one season and go from there. Good luck

i had a blind north of Gueydan by Morse. we had birds but the land wasn't properly managed. and the set up wasnt right. i think most important is having a landowner or farmer that will work with you to set it up properly.

I hunt a East of that area (well SW of Kaplan) and we do pretty well as long we do not go (especially during 2nd split) 3-5 days with the same blue bird sunny days and north wind blowing. Also, hunt the fronts regardless of what time of the day it is passing thru. Some days we kill more ducks at 1 or 2 in the afternoon than in the morning.
