Yep! been watching that. Also the winds are calm all week which should allow the bay to clear up. should be good fishing later in the week.

looks like next week we will see some steady east winds that will tank the bay.

Friends fished Saturday in Cote Blanche. Fresh and ZIP on fish. They brought their bait shrimp home and cooked them.

I have caught them with where it's at now, it's just to find them or what they're eating. I don't think salinity has much to do with the fall run as much as the bait source. I haven't gotten on any yet this year on the north side but heard of a few guys catching well. Inconsistent though.

1.2 parts per 1000 does not support trout, however saltwater is heavier than fresh; so 1.2 at the surface could be 5 (able for trout to be comfortable) at 6-7 feet.

I have caught trout in almost completely fresh water, but it does not make for a good strategy or pattern. Just happen to find em while we were looking for reds.

The trout will come in to take advantage of the bait migrating out of the marsh, you just will not see them in large numbers.

Doesnt look like we will have the luxury of a good trout bite in the cove and weeks bay this year. I hope things turn around.

I have a cousin that lives in Mobile and fishes the mouth of a fresh water river, he said sometimes they'll be up far enough where the sac a lait are still comfortable with the salinity and trout will be in same areas during the fall months.
