Default Who has cracked hands/fingers from hunting?

For years I have suffered with cracks in my fingers near my nails caused by dry skin from cold, dry hands while duck/deer hunting.

Well I have found the solution and have yet to have a cracked finger this year. I know it hurts like hell especially when it's your trigger finger or the thumb that you put shells in your gun with.

My solution:

Get some of the light blue Nitrile gloves ( I get mine from Harbor Freight for $7.99 per box of 100). Buy a thin pair of camo gloves that you can wear while hunting. I bought some Primos stretch fabric ones. Each morning before going hunting put a healthy amount of a good hand lotion on and then put on the nitrile gloves and then the camo gloves. The lotion will moisturize your hands and the nitrile gloves will make your hands sweat a bit keeping even more moisture on them. I also apply lotion throughout they to keep hands moisturized.

Some nights I even sleep with the gloves on after applying a very healthy amount of lotion. This further keeps them moisturized.

I hope this helps.

My hands stay cracked during duck season. Feels like I'm on fire when I put hand sanitizer on.

Try this stuff, I think I got my last can of it in Wal-Mart, it works well, also used for dogs feet and belly from all the chaffing.

Default Dry Skin

I never had a problem when I was in my teens, and I hunted all the time.

My right hand gets cracked skin and use this cream.

Aquaphor from Eucerin

It is called an Healing ointment or Advanced Therapy. I think I got it at Walmart.

If I use it every day, the dry skin goes away.

So gay... I like the fact that guys puff their chest out about having cracked fingers and how manly they are, then pool their resources on moisturizers to heal there cracked hands.

Don't your hands get enough moisture from giving east Texas handshakes?

Have to cut the fingers off your gloves to bounce it proper. When u see someone at the launch wit face paint and middle finger cut out the glove. That's when u know.
