Still really stained, but the fish are biting. Caught 19 on Monday, 8 keepers.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369240740.173663.jpg

We had a little rain today but it will only make the water run a little faster from the cuts! Buzzbaits, chug bugs, jigs, and spinner baits have woked tight to cover and in the moving cuts! Water is high and stained as mentioned! Got luck and keep us posted!!!

Where about were you catching? North of White Oak, West Fork, near the 171 bridge?

Hey fella's. I am new to the area, but I am living on the English Bayou. Does anybody know where I can get a good map of the river? Does the river ever get salty enough to hold reds? Where is this "white oak" yall are talking about? Sorry about all the questions, but thanks for any advice!

I just moved into the area not long ago so I'm leaning to fish this area also. The easiest way to find White Oak park is to use google earth. That's how I found it. If you type White Oak Park, LA and let google zoom in, then type fishing it will show you several parks and boat launches in the area. Good luck.

It is 4 or 5 miles east of Hwy 171, on Old Town road [Hwy 3059]. When this hwy turns south to go to Le Bleu, keep going east on River rd. The park and boat lauch is about 1.5 miles on the left.

Ref. Red fish.......If there is no or very little rain for a couple of month, the salt water does come up to the "Saltwater barrier" and a little farther upstream. The redfish do come up the Calcasieu river a few miles when this happens. If the river water gets fairly clear......this is a good sign that the reds could be in the area.

Thanks Gerald.

My house is on the water in the English Bayou, so I will not need to drive to white oak to launch. I will just try to make the drive from my house in the boat. I did find White Oak on google maps, but thanks to everybody who responded.
