Default Boat Launching North of Mallard Bay

Looking for a launch not too far from Mallard Bay. I want to cross the bay and hit the marshes. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

$100 permit for old Talens. There is another launch about a half mile before you get to talens, but you better have a jacked up 4x4 to get down the road. Also, stay out of Lake Arthur Hunting Club marsh, you will get run out.

The permits can be purchased at the Martin office in Jennings. East exit in Jennings, head south, its on the left about 1/4 mile.

I appreciate all the information. I used to fish the hunting club with a friend back in the early 90's. Where else can I go fish the marsh that isn't private? I can't go in the reserve because I have a 75 hp on my boat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There s also a launch on the side of the road past the old peat moss plant. It's just a gravel launch but its nice. There really is no public marsh south of mallard bay thu. You can fish part of Laccasine refuge with your boat..

About the only places you can fish with your motor is Grand Lake, White Lake and the old Intracoastal Canal. All the marsh, canals and small lakes (Round Lake, Snake Lake, Colligan, Black Fish, etc and all canals connecting these lakes) are private.

Go to streeter's. The launch papap mentioned is/was called Tee Rouge's toward the end of Ellis bridge road.

Streeter's is between the Mermantau River and Lacassine Bayou at the Intracoastal Canal, it is part of Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge. There is no restriction on motor size in that part of the refuge.

Default fishing streeters

if you are gonna fish streeters, you should launch at either garys Landing or Myers Landing both off of Lowery Rd. off hwy 14 near lake arthur...good fishing there at times. Try the very back area (duck Ponds) as well as the side canals...bream, cats, perch, and bass.

There is another launch off of talans landing rd for public use to get you into Mallard bay. It has a nasty little road to get there but the launch is great. Its called "broussards" and it is just inside the Gauydan Ditch off of the intercoastal 1/4 mile s of Talens. Honor box at launch $5.
