Did I mention guns are still allowed in home schools?

Home schooled students aren't just smarter, they are better shots than public schooled students: more target practice.

good for him, if I was his dad I would be proud as hell my boy can take care of himself and protect our family home

unfortunately I'm sure the liberal media will try and persecute him as some out of control dangerous kid with a gun he shouldn't have had access to

The only 2 home school students I know can't spell their own name and evidently you haven't been around too many swamp boys that never finished high school or even went...

While this COULD be a true statement.......this kid was not a marksman, He did not hit him until the 12 th shot.

And..... it sounded like the robber was clearly no threat when he was hit out side the home, trying to get away.

While inside in home, fire away. Outside the home leaving..... not so sure?

Good points, but I think we need to consider whether it is reasonable to hold an 11 year old boy to the same "rules of engagement" as an able bodied adult.

The intruder had threatened to kill the boy and it is believed he had robbed the same home before. I think an 11 year old boy may have had sufficient reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm by the criminal returning to have justified shooting the perp outside.

Shooting a perp who is outside and moving away is definitely not recommended for adults defending their homes. But for children who have been threatened, the concern of the perp returning to finish the job tends to seem more reasonable.

I doubt an Alabama jury will convict, and I doubt an Alabama DA will prosecute, especially in Talladega.

I've seen videos of cops letting that many rounds go and maybe hitting once

I must disagree a bit, not on current law, but what should be lawful....if some enters a home for criminal purposes, he is a threat while in the house or while escaping or while running away. He made a choice to be a criminal and a danger to society, and had this guy been killed would be no more threat. Had he gotten away, he would hurt someone in the future. I hope he goes away for a long time.

Home schooled students aren't just smarter,

Easy now. Think you need to pump the brakes.
