Default windy boat ride

been waiting for wind to lay down to make first trip of year and its just not happening. got off graveyards this am and when I got home started getting some things done so Its all taken care of by Friday when weather suppose to get a little better and I'm gonna make a day of it out on lake . around 8am I decided to go run boat and have a look around. have not ran it since last year when I shut it down early for the year to get boat motor fixed back up. replaced all fuel lines and water pump, etc. Shut down motor when I reached turners bay and called spicers and she said do have live shrimp. high tailed it over there and she had emergency and had to leave. was gonna go fish cuts around black lake, kelso, and salt ditch. Wind is blowing pretty good by now so decided to run north hoping to catch some live bait somewhere. not much happening up by casinos now that the muddy water from up north is hitting that area now. Caught 2 finger mullet and 3 huge shad and that was after 1 1/2 hrs throwing cast net. fish all over up there with plastic and caught this redfish with one of them big pogies under a poppin cork. too windy and time to head back to launch. I guess around noon I stopped in moss lake and made a few cast. caught two trout back to back and lost the 3rd one at the boat and that was end of live bait. they would not hit any artificial I threw so decided to go see if any bait up in lng and fished a little up there without any luck. its 30 mph or more by 1230 so I decided to just head in. I know where I wont be going Friday now, lol. but never caught fish where I caught these two nice ones so plan on trying that again. More of a scout day for fishing Friday anyway and just to check out the old 150 Yamaha. all is good and wants some more of this size yellow mouths. o water was high today and had just started going back out when I called quits.
