Default When is Venice prime for tuna?

Now through early October I plan to make a trip somewhere. When are the tuna hot down that way?

Summertime is when you can reliably get out to try for them. Fall can be great, but weather is too often prohibitive.

Been fishing tuna out of Venice and Empire for 30 years, and in my experience spring and fall are the most consistent times, although you can catch tuna almost any time you can find them. I typically plan overnight trips in May and October, depending upon weather. I will fish a month before or after depending on weather and water conditions. In my experience I have caught more big yellowfin in the fall, but have done well in the spring as well. The great thing about fishing down there is you can almost always bring back some fish and the snorkeling is superb under the rigs in blue water.
