yeah, sounds nice, looked into it, but I kinda have to stay no bigger then the 4 or 5 for my trolling motor head is right there when stowed, as well the way my anchor compartment door opens don't have much room for bigger and would end up damaging it eventually. Mostly use it for depth indication for when Im getting skinny. The chart plotter would be nice but not necessary.

Just food for thought ... Most of the time my front Lowrance unit will begin to flash crazy depth numbers like its having trouble keeping and accurate read while the TM still has good water to operate in.
Its almost like if your in 2'-3' or less there is almost no point in having a unit at the bow. Greater than that 2'-3' foot range and good to go spot on reads.

I have an older garmin unit and it works fine, most of the time, but some times it gets "STUCK" when reading under 1.8 ft and I have to reset it

I love having the unit up front, I have seen 0.9, 0.8 and Im like OH SNAP and get the heck out. "to me" a unit is essential to my fishing style. in certain areas I like to be in 8 ft casting to 3 ft, fishing the shelf so to speak, if it drops off to 12, 14 then I know Im too far, or if it goes to 5 or 4 then Im too close

theres been many places I "wanna check out" I troll in and next thing I know Im getting too skinny, crap then I back out. I would end up getting stuck, many times if I didn't have one

Get you a good rain jacket. Ive been caught in the rain too much lately so that's why a rain jacket comes to mind lol.
