North of the interstate. It gets like that. Gonna take some nasty weather. May get better late in the second split. Lots of birds in the marsh and lots of geese down south right now.

We hunt up near PI and i've found that during the week there isn't enough hunters usually to ge the birds moving. We usually just hunt changing weather during the week as the stable weather patterns (like we have now) give us trouble. Also, when the farmers start crawfishing, we notice good flights of ducks later in the day when the farmers run their traps.

Are you seeing better hunts with a south wind while hunting norht of I-10? I have always heard that area is much better with winds out of the south.

North of 10 just isn't anywhere near as good as south. I sure wouldn't pay much money to lease north of 10. Not worth it.

We typically do well on a South wind BUT have great hunts on the first day of a North with new birds coming in with a front. With that being said, stable weather-regardless of if its a north wind for 4 or 5 days or a south wind for 4 or 5 days is not very good for us. Changing weather results in good hunts for us 1st day of a strong South wind isn't near as good as the 1st day of a North wind.

This is kind of typical with most spots in the pine island area. Last year, it was a very good area pretty much all season due to the drought in Southern part of the state. A lot of people could not pump due to the salt water levels. However, I am suprised y'all did not kill on MON and TUES. Where I am South of Kaplan it usually gets slow once we get 2-4 of the same weather like what is going on now. Naturally opening weekened we had good hunts and we had good hunts on MON and TUES (29 total mostly big ducks) we did not hunt WED. However, yesterday only 3. No one went today. Let's hope we get any kind of a weather changed soon to get the birds moving again.

Well my Dad hunts south of i10 and has probably killed a total of 20 birds this year. They have been struggling to even see birds in their area.

Not many rice fields consistently kill limits of ducks. Geese is a different story.

We hunt in Pine Island and the flight has definately dropped off, but the birds are still there. Weekend limits of teal in 15 to 20 mins. I can't hunt during week, but my buddy went Tuesday got three man limit pretty quick, and again on Thursday and got half of three man limit, but left at probably 7:45 so he could have pulled a limit given a little time. Hopefully this weekend we can make something happen.

We don't pay that much plus I split 3 ways so its win win. I figured maybe since laccasine has been hard to hunt they not getting shot out of there and just sit and eat and whatever else. But I totally agree about marsh blinds just the good ones sewed up far or high dolla. Thanks for input fill free to add. We had opp to kill prolly 10easy teal but were working specs. Some bug ducks missed. But we'd and today was a ghost town. Wed our best flights were 930-1130 we were brushing blind.

Most are over 5K.....hell I pay more for that for mine south of kaplan. However, if you split it three ways it is not bad.

There's the difference. Another thing one needs to consider when leasing a field blind. Do you want to kill ducks or geese?

South of Kaplan in the White lake area is a big difference from Pine Island. If you wanna pay 50k for a blind, it's none of my business, but the lease prices around here are outrageous. But so is the hunting so, good wit the bad
