I spoke to one of the workers. He said they are removing the trees that fell during rita. my question is i thought the calcasieu is a scenic river. Looks like we will have more company trying to fish far north. Yesterday the wave runners were already hauling butt up there. Not to mention the tubers.

Trees that fell during Rita ??? What a boondoggle....
I'll jerk some chains in the AM, what a mess... Should have seen that incinerator at the launch before daylight, thing was puking out sparks and embers ... Probably burned a hole in my Jeep's top... BTW, caught a couple before burnin' it back to the landing this AM ... Hydro |

I've heard they are dredging, pulling logs, the whole nine yards.
But how far are they going north? Past the narrows? |

This is crazy ??? Not like there is any commercial traffic or anything like that past White Oak to warrant removal of navigation hazards ![]() May be time to start launching at Kinder and runnin' South ![]() |

They will be heading next to West Fork, to Houston River, to Buxton Creek, Choupique Bayou, then to the Vinton Drain Ditch. From what I have heard.

They had a portable incinerator at the launch burnin' at 0500 this morning, not sure of their protocol but it looks as if whatever is picked up is burned... This sucks... |

They were working at 1 this morning burning more logs. Sure seems like a lot of money just being burnt. I also heard they can't give or sell any of it.

Don't agree with it, but I am sure the reason is that these waterways drain all flood waters in the area and debris slows down that drainage.
