Default Deer score

I just read Dave Moreland's article in the La. Sportsman where he breaks down the top deer in the state parish by parish, pretty damn good article. I have property in Vermilion parish south of Kaplan that I regularly deer hunt and saw the best deer registered in Verm parish was only 116 in the La. Big Game Records. These are pics from my trail cameras from the last 2 years, I think all these bucks score over 115. Can anyone provide an educated guess at their scores?

It'd be close. But I agree with Scott it may break it. I'm def no expert on deer

Imo I don't see them busting 115. With some better pictures it would be easier. The bottom buck looks to be the same deer as the top just a year later. Let's say he is 16in wide, with 18in beams and 26in of mass. He would have to have 37 inches sticking up to make 115 and I really think that's stretching a little on the platform. 2nd pic isn't close. Hope this helps.

I don't think any of those deer would break 115 but that's just me guessing. I say don't even worry about a score and shoot those very nice bucks!

oh I will shoot given the chance. I've never had a deer scored , not really interested in score, I was just curious. I don't think Verm parish bucks get much bigger than these.

Yeh I don't think any of those break 115 either. I shot one last year taller and more massive than that and my taxidermist scored it at like 118. 115" is a lot bigger than people think.

I've seen some big vermilion parish bucks going to work early in the morning. They have some nice ones they just come out at night.

Default Deer score

What a coincidence this is brought up Bc I was on my way to go teal hunting this past weekend. On 82 just south of Forked Island at about 5am, I saw a nice buck (prob 110-120") had probably just gotten hit by a truck. It still had its head up. Should have stopped but we were running late. Looked for it on way back and he was gone. It was a nice deer. Nicest I've seen around those parts.

no panther.....but a black phase coyote. I've seen one other one, had LDWF look at the pic also.
Everyone knows black panthers do not like the coastal habitat.
