Default Toilet issues

My wonderful wife was doing what she was told and flushed a mr clean magic eraser down the crapper last night while I was at work so today when I woke up nature called and to my surprise the water and contents came up instead of goin down. I plunged away at it for a good thirty minutes with no success. Any ideas on where the best place to start or chemicals to try would be greatly appreciated.

If your ideas comes off of Pinterest along with my wife's idea please don't share it.

Get a snake and run it threw your clean out. I rented one a while back from grand rental it was the electric one. Can't remember exactly how much but I don't think it was much.

I agree with the snake. A plumber ran a snake through some lines with cement in them that kept backing up and it busted that stuff loose. I'm sure a hand could run a snake, didn't look complicated on bit

Speaking of cement, DO NOT use powdered laundry detergent. Use the liquid instead. One of my coworkers started having problem with drainage and I asked him if he used powdered detergent. He said yes. I went to meet him when he snaked his pipes and we pumped the septic. The pipe coming into the septic was damn near blocked solid.

Had a plumber come do my yearly pipe snaking due to my neighbors tree roots a few weeks go....he charges $82.00 an hour, he was in an out in under an hour. Compared to others that's a third of the cost
