Default Need some opinions!

Ive got a 16ft H51 xpress boat with merc90. Question is right now i have a cranking battery in the back... And 2 batteries in front compartment for 24v trollin motor... Boat was originally designed for 12v trollin motor so i dont have room for 3 batteries in the back. But having the two up front its killing my bow lift and im loosing speed. Whats ur opinions on just having two batteries in the back in sequence running trolling motor and pulling off of one for starting the motor? Safe?

dont think i would go that route. pretty sure that would leave you stranded one day with not enough juice to crank your motor.

If you run that battery too low you are screwed with these new motors. No such thing as an emergency pull rope anymore

If a battery can strand you, eventually you will be stranded. Build some redundancy into the system to avoid allowing a single battery failure to leave you stranded.

Nate your boat already porpoises when u start getting up in speed. U need the weight up front to help that. Taking the batteries out the front will not help with getting more speed unless you get trim tabs to tab the front of the boat down when u get the stern lifted more.

My boat does the same thing as yours, when I add weight up front I can trim the motor up more and get a couple more mphs. I took that extra battery out and have been running one, but thinking about adding one to the bow to help that problem.
