Default Trolling motor upgrade

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1355325299.824562.jpg I'm wanting to upgrade to a minn kota ipilot. Does anyone know if it will work with this style of mount that my motor guide slides on to?

They do make the removable mounts for the Ipilot. if you want to use the same mount you will have to customize it a bit im afraid. You will also have to move the whole mount forward since the Ipilot needs to hang over the bow due to the steering motor.

i would highly recommend the Ipilot, i have not touched my anchor in 3 months. it is amazing how much more time you have to fish, and less time messing with the trolling motor.

It will work, but you would not be able to use the motorguide quick release mount....you would have to buy the minn kota style. Only downfall is they have different hole patterns so you will have to drill holes for the minn kota mount.

So do you think that mine will work with ipilot in the current location since I have the same mount as yours?

the shaft may hit the boat but you can redrill the mount to move it forward if it hits.

The minnkota and motorguide quick release bracket mounting holes are not the same.....The holes would have to be re drilled for the minn kota mount to bolt up.
