Default H and M Marine

I am in the market for a Xpress H18 or H20B. I have gotten prices from most local dealers. H and M in Crowley will sell the H20B for the same OTD as boats unlimited will sell the 18. I have read so many bad reviews of H and M online but I hate to pass on such a good deal. Anyone have personal experience with them?

Anthony, do yourself a favor, and check out the excel bay pro 203. It's hands down a better boat than the Xpress. Trust me I have a bay pro 220 under my carport, and I was in the market for an Xpress when the dealer had me check out the excel, I never looked back. Very nice looking boat man. I actually looked at a boat just like yours yesterday. I haven't seen a 203 in person yet. Are they a little pricier than the Xpress?

That's exactly what I have heard. They want 27173 OTD for a H20B where other dealers have been more than that for the 18. Bent was 28495 for the 18. All equipped the same. Tough choice. 27 is pretty much the top of my budget so I'd rather get the most boat for my money.

Actually, they are a bit cheaper. I paid 30,000 out the door for mine.

I'll make a few phone calls tomorrow and see what I can find. I see they make a 183 baypro now. I didn't even get a price on the 203 yesterday. Do they come similarly equipped as far as trolling motor, depth finder etc?

I didn't know about the 183. When I bought mine it was only the 203 and the 220. They come rigged almost exactly the same. It's just the fit and finish is so much better on the excel.

Where did you get yours, if you don't mind me asking? I see you are in Mandeville. How does it handle chop in Lake Ponch?

I got mine from metro boating in Harvey. I've been in lake borne with it in 2-3 foot seas. It wasn't a smooth ride, but for an aluminum hull it was respectable. Much better than I expected.

Whatever boat you decide to go with, put the max hp it's rated for.

Looks like the excel is at least 2,000 more for the 203 vs the H20B. Little over 29000 OTD. I found another dealer in Stapleton, Al with the same prices as H and M.

Southern Outdoors in Houma and thibodaux carries the Excel..... I stopped to look a few times and the fit and finish is very good. I buy an excel before an Express based on that alone.

Well said swamp! Exactly why I bought mine over the Xpress.

I know everyone has their own thoughts concerning these 2 boats so I will add 1 more. I own a H18 xpress with the 115. It is a 2013 and I bought it used with less than 30 hours on the motor. I am not saying it rides like a fiberglass boat nor would I ever imply this. What I will tell you is that I paid $24,000 for my boat, it was rigged with a 742 garmin touch screen, 70# trolling motor, 2 on board chargers, perco switches, stereo system and LED lights. I hunt alligators, go crabbing, inshore fishing in Northeast Florida to Cocodrie . I have had it in 2 plus feet of chop in the ICW and I beat the natural hell out of this boat. If there is a structural issue I haven't found them yet. I will gladly answer any of your questions about this boat. I also looked at the H20 but I couldn't pass up the price I paid for this boat. Just my 2 cents.
