Default Big Lake conditions

Hey guys, can anybody who has been on the lake lately give an update on conditions? Is it super fresh and muddy from the rain?

Thinking about hauling the boat down next week to fish.

Also, it has been years since i have been down to the jetis. If the lakes super fresh they used to hold fish.

Is it safe to launch by the ferry and run down there in a 17' skiff? Whats the safe wind speed i need to watch?

I haven?t been on the lake lately but I hear that it is muddy. Conditions are not that good. Also a 17 foot boat in that area can be sketchy but it depends on the wind. That area will produce some good size waves.

Thats what i was thinking. If its say less than 10mph would it be safe? Just looking for a target.

15 is a good day regardless of conditions!

Hopefully it clears up.

Planning on coming down may 4-6.

Water in the marsh is pretty in places, but poo in the lake. Heard people were killing the crabs last week, before all this weather.

I need to learn more about fishing the marsh. Fished west cove, channel, around the golf course, and the salt ditch mainly my entire life.

Never ventured off into the marsh much besides that canal behind the camps off west cove. And never caught any fish in there. Thinking of venturing into black lake this time.
