Default How is the water on HWY 35?

My wife's family farm is on HWY 35 about 2 miles north of Kaplan...right across the road from the "Old Robichaux" farm. The property is on the corner of HWY 35 and Dennis Rd. How is the water situation over there? Is there any flooding? Thanks...Cajunduck Man

I haven't been on 35 but I know all the roads in Kaplan are closed. Went drive around earlier to try to help some friends in Lafayette and saw more water than I've ever seen before

Took me an hour and a half to make it from Lafayette to Kaplan. Now that I'm home water is too high to get out... Water was high at 699 and 35 at 8am

It should be alright if its built up at all. I haven't been down there but I know some people who live about a half mile away and they are fine. Is it uninhabited? I can ride down there and check it out if you guys are worried. Probably not much you can do, you probably would have to go to Texas to find a sandbag right now.

Any of you guys know if there is any flooding in the LaPremiere subdivision in Maurice? Tried to ride out there earlier and the police were not letting people in from hwy 167 south.

I'm not sure if the subdivision has water in it but 699 is impassable...

Dang! Had you noticed if Safe and Sound Storage is flooded? I have a storage unit there.

I just talked to the guy, Woody, that owns safe and sound storage in Maurice. No flooding there and he actually lives in LaPremiere subdivision. He said there was water in the subdivision but not in any houses.
